- Using developmental rubrics to teach students just outside their learning comfort zone (ZPD) enables students to develop the necessary skills to meet all desired learning outcomes. Professor Patrick Griffin and the team at the Assessment Research Centre from the University of Melbourne have published a process which enables teachers to manually create Guttman charts using Excel to locate students’ ZPD.
